Espada para oficial de la Luftwaffe. En buen estado general, solamente alguna pérdida del oro en los grabados de hojas de roble del canto del círculo que conforma el pomo. Con guarnición y vaina de aluminio, el puño con torzal de alambre de aluminio ciñendo el cuero y la vaina también recubierta de cuero con contera y brocal de aluminio. Conserva en excelente estado el suspensor de cuero y anillas. Hoja de la acostumbrada buena calidad y un excelente cromado de gran grosor y resistencia, sin faltas apreciables en el filo. El cuero como en todas las piezas de espadas y dagas de esta época de la Luftwaffe está finamente curtido y teñido de color azul muy oscuro. Pieza realizada sobre los años 1935-36. Piezas como esta usaron los oficiales de la Legión Condor durante la Guerra Civil Española. Hoja de 70 cm de longitud con la marca de Paul Weyersberg de Solingen, fabricante que realizaba sus piezas con extremada calidad. Luftwaffe officers sword is in good condition. It is of all aluminum mounts and they are in still-crisp mint condition. The pommel has fine rims on both sides and the oak leaves decorating the outside perimeter are crisp and deeply cut into the surfaces. These oak leaves also have pebbling throughout. The sun wheel swastikas on both sides have a fine, bright gold finish. The same applies to the sun wheels on the cross guard center block. The quillon arms of the cross guard are nicely feather detailed, going downward and out. The grip is a wood base having fine blue Moroccan leather covering. The leather is in perfect condition, showing no problems and still having choice graining. This grip is tightly wrapped with dual springy copper wire. The scabbard shell is straight throughout. It is covered with matching blue leather, which also is in perfect condition with no cuts or bruises. The scabbard mounts are the satin aluminum type and they, too, are in choice condition. The blade is a high-quality example, having choice nickel plated surfaces. This blade is easily in full mint condition and is 28 inches in length. Paul Weyersberg & Co. Makers stamp. |
